Joshua John Teare, known professionally as Teardrop, is an American DJ, MC, and event producer. With over two decades of experience, Teardrop isn’t just known for what happens behind the decks—he’s trusted for shaping the full experience from start to finish. He blends music, hosting, and production to guide the energy of every event with intention and flow.

Raised in San Ramon, California, he grew up surrounded by the Bay Area’s mix of sound and culture—drawn early to trance, techno, and house that sparked his love for rhythm and connection. Today, his sets move freely across genres and generations, blending cultures and eras in open-format mixes built in real time to move people.

Through his brand, Moment Entertainment, Teardrop delivers more than music. His work spans intelligent lighting, cold sparks, CO₂ effects, staging, and immersive sound design—each element crafted to elevate the atmosphere. Whether it’s an intimate wedding or a high-energy celebration, his focus on flow, detail, and authenticity defines every event.

He’s not just the DJ or MC—he’s often the quiet showrunner. Building timelines, managing transitions, reading the room, and adjusting before anyone asks. His calm, prepared presence keeps everything smooth while letting guests simply enjoy the moment.

A lifelong learner, Teardrop is also passionate about language and culture. Fluent in both English and Español, he’s studying his heritage and beyond—Deutsch, Diné, Français, Gaelg, Português—with the goal of connecting with people on a deeper level, both through music and conversation.

When he’s not performing or producing, Teardrop is at home in Mapleton, Utah, with his wife and four children. Whether DJing a wedding, road-tripping with family, or winding down after a long week, his approach stays the same: every moment deserves the right soundtrack—and he loves creating the ones that last long after the music fades.
